As the designer behind Design By Athena, I’m always inspired by the love and adventure captured in my clients’ snapshots. Every time I hear a story about a special trip or see a joyful family photo, I remember why I became a jeweler. I believe in “adorn[ing] yourself with more than just jewelry – adorn[ing] yourself with purpose and beauty”, and what could be more meaningful than a piece born from your own holiday memories? Let me show you how your favourite photos can become a one-of-a-kind treasure.

1. Gather Your Top 10 Photos: Choose ten of your most cherished holiday snapshots. These could be a romantic sunset you captured together, the mountains you hiked, or a fun family moment on the beach. Each photo holds colors, shapes, and emotions we’ll use as inspiration.
2. Share Your Story: Use our [contact form] or email to send me your photos and a sentence about why each one is special. I’ll listen closely and ask questions if needed. (No photo needs to be fancy – even a phone snapshot works.)
3. Concept & Sketch: I’ll review your photos and envision design ideas. For example, a glowing sunset might inspire a flowing wave motif with warm citrine and topaz. A misty forest shot could become a textured silver leaf ring set with green tourmaline. As I brainstorm, I keep in mind that “each piece [is] inspired by… myth, and memory — and designed to carry presence”. I then sketch a few concepts.
4. Review Together: I’ll send you those sketches and descriptions. You choose your favorite or suggest tweaks. Maybe swap metals or add a birthstone. This is a collaboration – your input shapes the final design.
5. Handcrafting: Once the design is approved, I handcraft the piece with care. Expect us to discuss materials (silver, gold, rose gold), gemstones (perhaps your favorite or ones matching your photo’s palette), and style details. Production time typically takes several weeks (exact timeline varies with complexity).
6. Delivery & Packaging: When your jewelry is ready, I’ll mail it in a beautiful gift box, ready for you or your loved one to wear. It’s truly a keepsake of your story. I often say: each custom creation is made with reverence “for story, for strength, and for you”.
